A PRACTICAL CLICKICLICK GUIDE

Create a QR campaign
for your next event.

Create a trackable QR campaign for a local business: publish an event page, give your window sign its own link, and check its activity.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Can I create this QR campaign for free?

The Free plan is enough for this QR campaign. You need a verified ClickiClick account, a browser and a phone.

Free includes one published page, three additional managed links and seven days of activity history. You’ll use one page and one additional link; the page’s own link and QR are included separately. Review the plans if you already use your allowance.

Make a page people can use.

Open Templates, find Invitation and choose Use template ↗.

In Content, replace the sample words:

Page title
Coffee, pastries & a Saturday pop-up
A short introduction
Join Ember & Elm Coffee for a relaxed weekend pop-up.
More about it
Meet a local maker, browse the pop-up table and settle in with your usual coffee. Drop in any time between 10am and 1pm.

Fill in When & where: Starts, Ends, Event timezone and Location & arrival details. Our example is November 7, 2026, 10am–1pm, America/Denver. Use your own details.

Under The details, set Section heading to “What to expect”; use Section introduction optional for a practical summary. Remove irrelevant template content, then Save draft.

01 / BUILD Put the essentials first. Sample content shown in the ClickiClick editor.

Give it a permanent address.

Check the preview, then Review & publish ↗. Choose Your address and an available short domain. Set This page’s ending, such as weekend, then Publish page ↗.

The workspace name and page ending stay fixed once reserved. Example names may be unavailable. A saved draft alone is not public.

How do I track visits from my window sign?

Give the window sign its own placement link and use that link’s QR. Open the page’s Share & QR ↗, then Create a placement: a named link for somewhere you share the campaign.

Choose your published event in Destination page; leave External destination blank. Enter Weekend pop-up · window in Title, optional and Front-window sign in Placement label. Keep an available Short domain, leave Custom ending, optional blank, then choose Create link ↗.

Use this placement’s QR on the sign. The page’s own QR has a different address.

Create a link dialog with the example event as Destination page, Weekend pop-up · window as the title and Front-window sign as the placement label.
02 / NAME A placement label helps you recognize where you shared a link.

Download the placement’s QR.

In Links, open Weekend pop-up · window → QR & print. Keep a dark code, light background and clear margin.

Choose Download PNG (1024 × 1024) or Download SVG (scalable). Try this invitation:

Scan for the time and details.

Include the date and a readable address, too. Downloading the same QR again doesn’t create another placement.

03 / SHARE Download the QR belonging to this placement, rather than the page’s separate QR.

How do I test my QR code before printing a batch?

Check the short link, scan the downloaded QR and test one physical print before ordering a batch. Use a signed-out browser. Your tests may appear in activity.

  • Open the short link. It should reach the published event, without an account prompt.
  • Read it on a phone. Check the title, date, timezone and location. Text should fit without sideways scrolling.
  • Scan the downloaded QR. The saved file should open the same event.
  • Test one physical print. Try your phone camera at the intended viewing distance and in the sign’s lighting. Keep the clear margin and resize if needed.

Order a batch only after the physical test works; a screen preview can’t prove print readability.

04 / CHECK Check the event details on a phone, then try a printed QR.

How do I check visits to my QR campaign?

Find Recent visits in the placement’s QR & print. Or open Activity, set From (UTC) and Through (UTC), then choose Update dates.

Short-link visits (called Route entries in Activity) count uses of the link. QR-tagged visits or QR-marked entries mean the QR-marked address was used; they do not prove a camera scan. Page views count page requests separately.

Review each measure separately. Counts can include repeat visits and your own checks; they aren’t unique visitors or completed bookings.

Can I update event details without changing the QR code?

You can publish updated event details while keeping the page address and placement QR the same. If the time changes, open Edit page, update it and Save draft. Choose Publish changes ↗, then confirm with the same label in the dialog. Reopen the original placement link: it should show the update.

Afterward, change A short introduction to “This event has ended” and publish again. Check the link before reusing a sign.

IF SOMETHING LOOKS OFF

A few things to check.

My page isn’t in Destination page.

Publish it first. The placement picker lists published pages; saving a draft doesn’t put it there.

My edit isn’t visible to visitors.

Confirm the draft saved, publish the changes and reload the public link.

The QR appears, but no file arrives.

Check your browser’s Downloads for pending or blocked files. Follow your organization’s policy; contact support if needed.

The QR is hard to read.

Use a dark code on a light, solid background. Preserve its clear margin and test the saved file and printed size. Avoid placing text or decoration over the code.
